New Dad's First Father's Day - Parenting Marker

The first Father's Day a new dad ever experiences will surely bring about a new appreciation for all the other dads he may know. It is a day to reflect on the experience of being a dad and what kind of dad you want to be. Gifts will pour, kisses and hugs will be aplenty but to make sure this day isn't wasted, why not use Father's Day as a marker in your parenting? Use this day to create a goal and plans for the next 12 months. Decide which skills you want to be responsible for teaching your new baby. Are you going to teach her her first dance steps this year? Or help him learn how to push himself on a new ride-on toy? It can be hard for new dads to see how they impact the life of their precious bundles of joy, but if you make a plan to help your baby master one or two specific skills, you will be able to see how you make a difference. And don't forget to plan in time for lots of snuggling, songs, and books too!
